Syntactic characteristics of subtitles in Czech media

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá syntaktickou charakteristikou českých mediálních titulků. V teoretické části práce definuje a blíže vymezuje pojmy: masová média, zpravodajství, publicistika a titulek. Seznamuje s funkcí titulku, s jeho typy a formální podobou z hlediska syntaktického. V praktické části analyzuje a následně porovnává titulky tištěných periodik a jejich internetových verzí. Cílem této práce je vysledovat obecné syntaktické tendence při tvorbě titulků tištěných a elektronických periodik. Při analýze bude brán zřetel především na to, zda mají titulky větnou, anebo nevětnou podobu.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis talking about the syntactic characteristics of Czech media subtitles. In the theoretical part of the thesis we define the terms: mass media, news, journalism and headlines. This thesis introduce us the function of the subtitles, their types and formal form of the syntactic view. In the practical part we analyze and then compare the subtitles of printed periodicals and their Internet version. The aim of this thesis is stalk the general syntactic tendencies in the creation of subtitles of printed and electronic periodicals. The analysis will take into account whether the subtitles have a sentence or an unnamed form.
