The impact of the urbanization rate, districts of the Czech Republic, on the level of general crime in their territory

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá posouzením vlivu míry urbanizace okresů ČR na stav obecné kriminality. Nejprve se zaměřuje na obecný popis procesů urbanizace a posuzuje význam pojmu urbanizace ve společnosti. Dále se práce věnuje definování obecné kriminality. A v neposlední řadě je analyzován vývoj míry urbanizace a stavu obecné kriminality v jednotlivých okresech České republiky. V analýze je nejprve vypočtena míra urbanizace v jednotlivých okresech České republiky a dále je posuzován její vývoj ve sledovaném období. Pak je z registrovaných trestných činů obecné kriminality vypočten index kriminality v jednotlivých okresech České republiky a je porovnáván jeho vývoj. Následně je v analýze hledaná pomocí korelace odpověď na výzkumnou otázku: Má vliv míra urbanizace na míru obecné kriminality v jednotlivých okresech České republiky?

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of the influence of the degree urbanization of the districts of the Czech Republic on the state of general crime. First, it focuses on a general description urbanization processes and assesses the meaning of the concept urbanization in society. Next, the thesis examines the definition of general crime. And last but not least, the development of the urbanization rate and the state of general crime in individual districts of the Czech Republic is analyzed. The analysis first calculates the rate urbanization in the individual districts of the Czech Republic and then examines its development in the period under review. Then, the crime index in the individual districts of the Czech Republic is calculated from the registered general crimes and its development is compared. Subsequently, the answer to the research question is sought in the analysis by means correlation: Does the level of urbanization influence the level of general crime in individual districts of the Czech Republic?
