From Street to Gallery. Keith Haring a Jean-Michel Basquiat

Abstract:

Umění graffiti vzniklo na přelomu 60. a 70. let v ghettech velkoměst USA. Od té doby se část scény přibližuje tradičnímu umění a komerční sféře. Toto přibližování probíhalo ve třech vlnách, třetí vlna, ve které se z graffiti vyvinul street art, probíhá až dodnes. Toto přibližování znamená do značné míry ústup od původní subkultury, a tím i od původního smyslu a cílů graffiti. Tento kompromis přinesl řadě tvůrců, kteří se uměním graffiti inspirovali, slávu i finanční zisk. V 80. letech mezi takové umělce patřili Jean-Michel Basquiat a Keith Haring, od 90. let dodnes jsou to například Invander, Banksy nebo Obey Giant.

Abstract:

Graffiti art appeared at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s in ghettos of big cities in the USA. Since the 1970s approximation graffiti to the fine art and commerciality. This aproximate proceed in three phases, the third phase, in which envelopped street art from graffiti art in the 1990s, is actually proceeding up to the present day. This approximation means retreat from the original subculture, and thereby also from original purposes and goals of graffiti. This compromise brought to a number of artists, inspired by graffiti, fame and profit. In the 1980s belonged to those artists Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, since the 1990s e. g. Invander, Banksy or Obey Giant
