This bachelor thesis consists of an analysis of sinful literary characters in novels Ensorcelée and Un prêtre marié by a French Romantic author Jules Barbey d’Aurevilly. We examined the role of sin in these two fictional universes to find out whether the author hid an apologetic function in these devil-like novels. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou hříšných postav v románech Ensorcelée a Un prêtre marié od francouzského romantického spisovatele Julese Barbey d’Aurevilly. Zkoumali jsme, jakou roli v těchto fikčních světech hraje motiv hříchu a zda autor skryl do těchto na první pohled ďábelských románů apologetickou funkci.
