Rock slopes stability analysis in the valley of the Želetavka river

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá posouzením stability vybraných skalních stěn v údolí řeky Želetavky. Byly vybrány lokality Suché skály, Kostníky a Svobodův mlýn. Na stěnách byly měřeny orientační pevnosti granulitové horniny pomocí Schmidtova kladívka, a orientace diskontinuit pomocí geologického kompasu. Následně na základě těchto dat jsem provedl hodnocení stability skalních stěn. Na základě metody RMR (rock mass rating system), která je indexovou klasifikací vlastností horninového masivu. Následně pak byla klasifikace rozšířena o nadstavbovou metodu SMR (slope mass rating system), podle které se hodnotila přímo stabilita konkrétní skalní stěny.Bylo zjištěno, že stěna u Svobodova mlýna, na které bylo naměřeno celkem 9 diskontinuit je celá částečně nestabilní a patří tím do 4. kategorie. Skalní stěna na Suchých skalách je ze 60% stabilní a patří do 2. kategorie SMR. U Kostník má skalní stěna 4 diskontinuity částečně nestabilní a patří do 4. kategorie SMR. Zbývajících 5 diskontinuit je stabilních a částečně stabilních a patří do 2. a 3. kategorie SMR. Skalní stěna na Suchých skalách a u Kostník je ve stavu, kdy není nutné žádné bezpečnostní řešení. U Svobodova mlýna bylo navrženo zabezpečit skalní stěnu pomocí ocelových kotev.

Abstract:

In this thesis I focus on the assessment of the stability of selected rock walls in the valley of the river Želetavka. Selected localities are Suché skály, Kostníky and Svobodův mlýn. On rock walls I measured oriented solidities of the granulite rock with using Schmidt hammer. Then I measured oriented discontinuities with using a geological compass.Based on these data I evaluated stability of the rock walls. For that I used RMR method (rock mass rating system), which is an index classification of rock massif properties. The classification was extended by the SMR method (slope mass rating system), according to I determined stability of a specific rock wall. I found out that rock wall in Svobodův mlýn, where I measured 9 discontinuities, is partially unstable and belongs to 4th cathegory. Rock wall in Suché skály is 60 % stable and belongs to the 2nd category of SMR. Rock wall in Kostníky has 4 discontinuities and is partially unstable and belongs to the 5th category of SMR. The remaining 5 discontinuities are stable and partially stable and belong to the 2nd and 3rd categories of SMR.Rock walls in Suché skaly and Kostníky is in a state where no safety solution is necessary. At Svobodův mlýn was suggested to secure the rock wall with steel anchors.
