Even if the Reunion creol is officially a part of the regional languages of France, by it´s origin and structure it faces the racial and sociocultural problems that refer to the language prestige. Réunionská kreolština sice formálně patří do skupiny regionálních jazyků Francie, ovšem svým původem a strukturou čelí mnohým rasovým a sociokulturním problémům, s čímž je spojena otázka jazykové prestiže.
