The Share of Father´s Involvement in Family Functioning

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci se věnuji podílu angažovanosti otce na chodu rodiny. V teoretické části se zabývám angažovaným otcovstvím s jeho specifickými předpoklady, z pohledu historických a kulturních událostí, přiblížím mýty a stereotypy, které se k této problematice vážou. Dále se věnuji rodině jako kontextu pro výkon otcovské role. V dalších kapitolách rozebírám faktory ovlivňující angažovanost otců v oblasti péče o děti a výchovy dětí, významem otce pro děti a také popisuji současnou situaci na poli angažovaného otcovství. Hlavním cílem této práce bylo zjistit, kolik věnují otcové ze svého času svým dětem, jakými činnostmi se do výchovy a péče o děti zapojují a jaké jsou motivy jejich případné angažovanosti. Touto problematikou se zabývám v praktické části, v níž používám výzkumnou metodu dotazníku pro zjištění konkrétních údajů.

Abstract:

In my bachelor thesis I deal with the share of father's involvement in family functioning. In the theoretical part I look into involved fatherhood and its specific preconditions, considering historical and cultural events, clarifying myths and stereotypes which are related to this issue. Further on I describe the family as a context for performing the role of the father. In the following chapters I examine factors influencing fathers' involvement in the field of childcare and upbringing, father's importance for children and I also describe the current situation in the field of involved fatherhood. The aim of this thesis was to find out how much of their time fathers dedicate to their children, what activities they are involved in within their children's upbringing and care, and what the motives of their possible involvement are. I deal with these issues in the practical part, where I use a research method of questionnaire in order to find out the specific data.
