The impact of sustainability on Haute Couture and Luxury fashion brands

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vlivem trendu udržitelnosti posledních let na Haute Couture a luxusní módní značky. V teoretické části je objasněn termín Haute Couture a její pravidla v souvislosti s historickým vývojem oděvu. V další kapitole je představeno jedenáct luxusních značek, jejich historie, a především angažovanost jednotlivých společností v environmentálních a sociálních aspektech dopadu jejich obchodní činnosti na okolí. V praktické části je provedena vícekriteriální analýza hodnotící participaci vybraných luxusních oděvních značek v nejčastěji užívaných environmentálních praktikách.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the trend of sustainability in the fashion industry and it´s impact on high fashion and luxury fashion brands. In the theoritical part explains the term Haute Couture and it´s rules in the context of the historical development of apparel. The next chapter presents eleven luxury fashion brands, their history and especially the involvement of individual companies in the environmental and social aspects of the impact of their business activities on the environment. In the practical part, a multi-criteria analysis of participation of chosen luxury fashion brands in the most used environmentally focused actions is performed.
