Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vnímáním nové skutečnosti v cestopisech Cesta z Prahy do Benátek a odtud potom po moři až do Palestiny Oldřicha Prefáta z Vlkanova a Islandia Daniela Vettera. Obě díla jsou analyzována z hlediska jejich intertextuálního zázemí a toho, jakou metodou autoři popisují novou skutečnost a jak konkrétně reflektují přírodu, obyvatelstvo a kulturu a náboženství navštívené země. Cílem práce je na základě analýzy určit nejprve to, v jakém rozsahu autoři v cestopisech využívají autopsii, informace z doslechu a citace či parafráze z uznávaných autorit, a následně způsob, jakým Prefát a Vetter zachycují a přibližují cizí zemi a neznámé skutečnosti čtenářům, na co se blíže zaměřují, zda se do reflexe nějakým způsobem promítá jejich vzdělání či víra a jak se jejich reflexe liší.

Abstract:

This master’s thesis examines the perception of new reality in two travel books, “The Pilgrimage from Prague to Venezia” by Oldřich Prefát from Vlkanov and “Islandia” by Daniel Vetter. Both pieces of work are analysed from their intertextual background point of view in the first instance, and then according to what method the authors use to describe new reality and how they reflect on the nature, inhabitants, culture and religion of visited country. The goals of this thesis are, based on the analyses, to determine: to what extent the authors use their own experience, information they heard themselves and quotations or paraphrasing from known authorities; the ways in which Prefat and Vetter describe and approach foreign country and unknown reality to their readers; what they focus on in detail, and if their education and religion is reflected in their perception and how their reflections differ from each other.
