This thesis deals with the work of the contemporary British author of children?s literature Philip Pullman, with the main focus on the fantasy trilogy His Dark Materials. In his piece Pullman challenges readers with his original interpretation of the Christian myth, namely the Creation and the Fall, at the background of Milton?s Paradise Lost and Blake?s poems. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá dílem současného britského autora dětské literatury Philipa Pullmana se zaměřením na trilogii Jeho temné esence. Tento román na pokračování je výzvou pro čtenáře všech věkových kategorií neb čerpá z literární tradice básníků Johna Miltona a Williama Blakea.
