The life and work of Vladimír Havlík: an educationalist, an organist and a composer

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o prof. Vladimíru Hawlíkovi, významné brněnské hudební osobnosti 20. století, od jeho dětství a školních a studentských let. Představuje ho jako pedagoga, varhaníka a hudebního skladatele. Poprvé podává ucelený přehled veškerého umělcova díla. Kromě hudební tvorby i publikační činnosti včetně dosud nevydaných rukopisů se také zabývá některými z mnoha jeho žáků. Hawlíkovu osobnost v životních rolích otce, kolegy a přítele dokreslují vzpomínky rodinných příslušníků a pamětníků.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis deals with Professor Vladimír Hawlík, a notable Brno musical personality of the 20th century, since his childhood, through school and student years. It introduces him as a pedagogue, organist and a composer. The thesis for the first time provides a comprehensive overview of the entire artist’s work. This thesis deals with some of his many disciples besides his musical works, publication activities, including yet unpublished manuscripts. Hawlík’s personality in the role of the father, colleague and friend is illustrated by the memories of family members and contemporary witnesses.
