Diplomová práce se zabývá motivem přežití v současné Kanadské literatuře, a to především v novele a románu. Práce zkoumá faktory, které ovlivňují přežití či nepřežití postav a jejich strategie přežití. Dále se zabývá analýzou hrdinství ve spojení s motivem přežití. Abstract:
The present master thesis deals with the motif of survival in contemporary Canadian fiction, in particular novel. The thesis examines obstacles which determine the survival or death of characters, and survival strategies. Furthermore, it presents analysis of heroism in the context of survival.
