The Confrontation of the Huge Landlord`s Towns in Moravia with the Hussite Movement in the Time After the Extincion of the Luxembourgish Second Gate

Abstract:

Diplomové práce pojednává o vztahu velkých moravských zeměpanských měst k husitskému hnutí v letech 1411 až 1423. Při zamýšlení nad postojem Brna, Olomouce, Znojma a Jihlavy jsou brány v potaz širší souvislosti. V předkládaném textu se proto vyskytuje krátké zamyšlení o pozdně středověké zbožnosti, stejně jako popis klíčových událostí doby před zánikem lucemburské sekundogeniturní větve v roce 1411. Stejně tak je zde podniknuta sonda do historie čtveřice velkých měst, která, jak se ukázalo, je nezbytná pro pochopení jejich vztahu k husitství. Zásadní je potom popis a analýza samotné konfrontace s husitským hnutím ve sledovaném období. Závěr práce potom přináší odpovědi na výzkumné otázky a poněkud koriguje dosavadní závěry odborné veřejnosti ve zkoumané oblasti.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the relationship of huge moravian landlord`s towns with the Hussite movement in years 1411 to 1423. When considering the attitudes of Brno, Olomouc, Znojmo and Jihlava, a wider context is taken into account. In the present text, there is a brief reflection on the late medieval piety, as well as a description of the key events of the time before the termination of Luxembourg's second-genity in 1411. Likewise, a probe is taken into the history of four huge cities, which, as it turned out, is necessary to understand their relationship to Hussitism. What is essential is the description and analysis of the confrontation with the Hussite movement itself in the period under review. The conclusion of the thesis brings the answers to the research questions and somewhat corrects the previous expert conclusions.
