Abstract:

Víceúrovňové systémy (MLS) klasifikují informací na základě jejich důvěrnosti či integrity. SELinux je příkladem implementací MLS, který prosazuje model Bell-LaPudula(BLP). Cílem této práce je nastudovat a analyzovat základní prvky MLS politiky v SELinux. Součástí tohoto zkoumání jsou praktické experimenty, vztahující se k souborovému systému, meziprocesové komunikace, polyinstance, aplikační a databazové podpoře MLS. Cílem praktické části je navrhnout, impementovat a otestovat konfigurací MLS politiky, skutečně použitelnou pro webový server Apache. Nakonec, tato práce analyzuje přínos MLS v bezpečnost webových služeb, a oblasti ve kteréch lze takovéto systémy nasadit.

Abstract:

Multilevel Security (MLS) systems classify data, based on their confidentiality or integrity. One of possible implementation of MLS system is SELinux, that enforces Bell-LaPudula model (BLP). The goal of this work is to study and analyze basic components of MLS policy in SELinux. This studying includes practical experiments related to File System, Inter-Process Communication, Polyinstantiation, Application and Database Support of MLS. The goal of the practical part is to design, implement and test the configuration of MLS policy, applicable for Apache web server. Finally, this work analyzes the benefits that can be brought by MLS to the security of web services and the areas in which such systems could be deployed.
