Social work in nursing homes, in context of fulfilling the needs of their clients

Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo zjistit jaké potřeby nejčastěji naplňují sociální pracovníci, při práci se seniory ve vybraných pečovatelských domech. V rámci tohoto cíle byla popsána teorie a pojící se problematiky, které se zabývají jak stářím samotným, tak i lidskými potřebami. Teorie byla využita při sestavování výzkumného šetření, jehož cílem bylo zjistit, s čím nejčastěji sociální pracovníci pomáhají seniorům v pečovatelských domech. V návaznosti bylo i zkoumáno, jak tito sociální pracovníci vnímají svou roli a naplňování potřeb daných klientů. Výzkumný soubor tvořily celkem dvě sociální pracovnice, působící na Úmob Poruba a pět klientek, celkem ze tří pečovatelských domů, nacházejících se v Ostravě Porubě. Shromážděná data byla získána metodou rozhovorů a následně zanalyzována prostřednictvím zakotvené teorie.

Abstract:

The purpose of the research was to find out what needs are most often fulfilled by social workers when working with seniors in a nursing home. As part of this goal, theory and related issues were described, which deal both with old age itself and with human needs. The theory was used when compiling a research with aim to find out what social workers most often help seniors in a nursing homes with, and how these social workers perceive their role and fulfilling the needs of these clients. The research group consisted of a total of two social workers working at the Úmob Poruba and five clients from a total of three nursing homes located in Ostrava Poruba. Data were collected through interviews and analyzed through grounded theory
