"Dance of the vices" To Eva Menasses Lässliche Todsünden

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of seven deadly sins and its adaptation in the work „Lässliche Todsünden” written by the contemporary Austrian writer Eva Menasse. It is divided in two main parts. The first one focuses on the introduction of seven deadly sins and their represantations in the contemporary art and literature. The main part of the thesis consists of an analysis of the mentioned work of art from the narrative point of view. The results of the analysis create then a space for further interpretation of Menasse' deadly sins.

Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca sa zaoberá témou siedmich smrteľných hriechov a ich spracovaním v diele „Lässliche Todsünden” súčasnej rakúskej autorky Evy Menasse. Je rozdelená do dvoch hlavných častí. Prvá časť sa zameriava na predstavenie siedmich smrteľných hriechov a ich zobrazenie v súčasnom umení a literatúre. Ťažiskom práce je časť druhá, v ktorej je spomínané dielo podrobené štrukturalistickej analýze a výsledky samotnej analýzy tak vytvárajú priestor pre následnú interpretáciu Menassiných smrteľných hriechov.
