Activation approaches to patients in geriatrics

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá aktivizací seniorů v nemocniční péči. V teoretické části se za-měřuje na vysvětlení pojmů stáří, stárnutí, seznamuje s problematikou komunikace se seni-ory. Zabývá se aktivizací seniorů, jejím významem a vlivem aktivizace na kvalitu stáří, představuje jednotlivé aktivizační metody, které lze využívat u geriatrických pacientů v nemocnici Podklady k výzkumnému šetření jsou získávány pomocí nestandardizovaného polostruktu-rovaného rozhovoru s pacienty na geriatrickém oddělení v nemocnici krajského typu. Otázky v rozhovoru jsou zaměřeny na zájmy a oblíbené volnočasové aktivity seniorů, na zkušenosti pacientů s předchozí aktivizací v nemocničním prostředí a na jejich vlastní představě o aktivizaci v nemocnici. Výsledky ukazují na skutečnost, že senioři mají o vol-nočasové aktivity v nemocnici zájem, ale zároveň velmi citelně udávají, že tyto aktivity nesmějí narušit jejich léčebný režim. Ze všech nabízených činností by senioři nejvíce uvítali četbu knih, procházky po areálu nemocnice a prosté povídání, na které ošetřující zdra-votnický personál nemá dostatek času. Zajištění aktivizace u geriatrických pacientů v nemocnici je velmi náročné, užívá se vždy specifických metod.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the activation of elder people in the hospital care. The theo-retical part focuses on the notion of old age, familiars with the problems of communication with old people. Deals with the activation of seniors, its significance and influence of acti-vation to quality of age, represents the activation methods that can be used in geriatric pati-ents in hospital. The supporting documents to the research investigetion is generated by means of unstan-dardized semistructructured interview with patients on a geriatric ward in regional type of hospital. The questions in interview is focused on the interests and favorite lemure activi-ties of seniors, on the expirience of patients with a previous activation in the hospital and on thein own idea of activation in the hospital. Results show that older people have the leisure activities in the interest of the hospital, but very noticeably indicate that these activi-ties musn´t compromise thein therapeutic regimen. The seniors most welcome reading books, walks on the hospital premises and simply talk to the attending medical personal don´t have enough time. Ensuring of activation in geriatric patients in hospital is very chal-lenging, always is used specific methods.
