Trigger points and their therapy for recreational athletes

Abstract:

Bakala?r?ska? pra?ce se zaby?va? problematikou spous?t?ovy?ch bodu? a jejich terapii? u rekreac?ni?ho sportovce. V teoreticke? c?a?sti jsou definova?ny spous?t?ove? body, popsa?na jejich etiopatogeneze, nejc?aste?js?i? symptomy, klinicka? diagnostika, a nakonec moz?nosti terapeuticke?ho ovlivne?ni?. Da?le je popsa?na anatomie velke?ho a male?ho prsni?ho svalu, nejc?aste?js?i? mi?sta vy?skytu spous?t?ovy?ch bodu? v te?chto svalech a za?kladni? zpu?soby jejich palpace. Posledni? c?a?st teorie je ve?nova?na popisu kliku a ru?zny?m varianta?m tohoto cviku. Prakticka? c?a?st zahrnuje kazuistiku 53lete?ho rekreac?ni?ho sportovce, ktery? ma? c?aste? bolesti ramene pr?i tlakovy?ch cvici?ch. V ra?mci 10 terapeuticky?ch sezeni? byl sledova?n vliv terapie spous?t?ovy?ch bodu? ve velke?m a male?m prsni?m svalu na maxima?lni? poc?et opakova?ni? kliku a sni?z?eni? bolesti v rameni u tohoto jedince.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of trigger points and their therapy for recreational athletes. Theoretical part defines trigger points, describes their etiopathogenesis, other symptoms, clinical diagnosis and finally the possibilities of therapeutic influence. Furthermore, the anatomy of the large and small pectoral muscle, the most common places of occurence of trigger points in these muscles and the basic methods of their palpation are described. The last part of the theory is devoted to the description of push-up and various variants of this exercise. The practical part includes a case report of a 53year-old recreational athlete who has frequent shoulder pain during pushing exercises. During 10 therapeutic sessions, the effect of trigger point therapy in the large and small pectoral muscle on the maximum number of repetitions of push-up and reduction of shoulder pain in this individual was monitored.
