The study deals with the figure of Salomé in selected prosaic texts from the turn of the century and modernism. First of all is presented Salomé in the gospels of Mark and Matthew. The fatal woman was a frequent figure in the works of European writers like Mallarmé, Wilde and Flaubert, whose pieces are briefly introduced. Práce pojednává o postavě Salomé ve vybraných prozaických textech z přelomu století a z modernismu. Poté, co je uvedena jako biblická postava v evangelických textech Matouše a Marka, je představen i stručný přehled děl evropských autorů, kteří se jejím příběhem inspirovali: Wilde, Mallarmé, Flaubert.
