Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou podvodů s platebními kartami a současnou situací bezhotovostního platebního styku v České republice. První část je věnována vývojem a historií platebních karet a jejich obecným rozdělením a také právní úpravě. Pokračuje rozebíráním bezpečnostních opatření, fyzickou a systémovou ochranou a podrobným výčtem náležitostí a ochranných prvků platebních karet. Dále jsou zde uvedeny druhy podvodů s platebními kartami a náčrt, jak se proti nim bránit. Druhá kapitola je zaměřená na fraudy a fraud management a s tím souvisí i detekce a prevence podvodů. Vysvětluje jednotlivé procesy, které se zabývají touto problematikou a jaké útvary k tomu slouží. V následující třetí kapitole je zachycena situace podvodů s platebními kartami v Evropě, je-li karta přítomna či není a navrhuje možná řešení. Poslední čtvrtá kapitola analyzuje současnou situaci v České republice, ukazuje statistické údaje ohledně platebních karet. Doporučuje kroky k zabezpečení platebních karet jak pro majitele, tak pro obchodníky a nahlíží do budoucnosti ochranných prvků platebních karet u dvou významných asociací.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of payment card fraud and the current situation of non-cash payments in the Czech Republic. The first chapter deals with the development and history of payment cards, their general division and pertinent legislation. It continues with the analysis of security measures, physical and systemic protection and a detailed listing of requirements and payment card security features. Furthermore, we list the types of fraud with payment cards and outline measures that defend against such frauds. The second chapter focuses on fraud and fraud management as it pertains to the detection and prevention of fraud. This chapter also explains the individual processes related to these issues as well as a list of divisions that are tasked with this service. The third chapter captures the payment card fraud situation in Europe. It looks into different scenarios – e.g. is the card present or not and offers possible solutions. The fourth and final chapter analyzes the current situation in the Czech Republic and shows statistics regarding payment cards. It also recommends steps to secure payment cards for both, the credit card holders and traders, and looks to the future security features of payment cards in the framework of two significant associations.
