Possibilities of increasing the phytoremediation potencial of cannabis using selected exogenously applies substances

Abstract:

Literární část diplomové práce „Možnosti navýšení fytoremediačního potenciálu konopí pomocí vybraných exogenně aplikovaných látek“ je zaměřena především na problematiku týkající se fytoremediací. V diplomové práci jsou popsány jednotlivé fytoremediační procesy včetně detailněji charakterizované fytoextrakce. Jsou zde také popsány možnosti zvýšení účinnosti fytoremediace, základní mechanismy absorpce kontaminantů v rostlinách nejsou opomenuty. V experimentální části práce je posuzován fytotoxický účinek vybraných látek na růstové parametry rostlin. V průběhu dvou týdnů byly testovány reakce rostlin na exogenní aplikaci humátu sodného a indol-3-octové kyseliny. Experimentálně byl prokázán spíše stimulační účinek vybraných koncentrací, proto byly pro vlastní fytoremediaci zvoleny vyšší koncentrace látek (500 mg/l humátu sodného a 50 µM indol-3-octové kyseliny). Nedílnou součástí experimentální části diplomové práce je také zhodnocení vlivu exogenně aplikovaných látek na schopnost rostlin akumulovat těžké kovy. Z výsledků pokusu vyplývá, že aplikace testovaných látek u odrůdy Felina 32 významněji ovlivnila množství zinku translokovaného z kořenového systému do nadzemních částí rostlin. S hladinami zinku v jednotlivých částech rostlin korelovaly také hladiny prolinu. Z hlediska produkce biomasy i akumulace zinku v nadzemních částech rostlin se z obou testovaných odrůd jeví Felina 32 jako perspektivnější pro asistovanou fytoextrakci těžkých kovů.

Abstract:

The literary part of the diploma thesis „Possibilities of increasing the phytoremediation potential of cannabis using selected exogenously applies substances“ is focused mainly on issues related to phytoremediation. The diploma thesis describes individual phytoremediation processes, including a more detailed characterization of phytoextraction. The possibilities of increasing the efficiency of phytoremediation are also described here, the basic mechanisms of absorption of contaminants in plants are not neglected. In the experimental part of this work, the phytotoxic effect of selected substances on plant growth parameters is assessed. Plant responses to exogenous application of sodium humate and indole-3-acetic acid were tested over two weeks. Experimentally, the prevailing stimulatory effect of selected concentrations was demonstrated, so higher concentrations of substances (500 mg/l of sodium humate and 50 µM indole-3-acetic acid) were chosen for the phytoremediation itself. An integral part of the experiments is also the evaluation of the influence of exogenously applied substances on the ability of plants to accumulate heavy metals. The results of the experiments show that the application of tested substances affects the amount of zinc translocated from the root system to the aboveground parts of plants more significantly in the Felina 32 variety. Proline levels also correlated with zinc levels in individual plant parts. In terms of biomass production and zinc accumulation in the aboveground parts of plants, Felina 32 appears to be more promising for assisted phytoextraction of heavy metals from both tested varieties.
