Mexiko a Evropa mají silné historické a kulturní vazby. V současné době, i když hlavním obchodním partnerem Mexika jsou USA, existuje velký zájem posílit vztahy s EU, diverzifikovat obchodní partnery a redukovat závislost na USA. Mexico and Europe have strong historical and cultural ties. Nowadays, even though the main commercial partner for Mexico is the United States there is a high interest in strengthen the relationship with the EU, to diversify trading partners and to reduce the dependency on the USA.
