Derivation of proper names in the French press

Abstract:

The main theme of this bachelor thesis is the derivation of proper names in the French press. The theoretical part deals with the definition of nouns and proper nouns, including their categories, the description of the process called appellativisation (when a proper noun becomes a common noun) and the definition of the term derivation and its types. The practical part describes corpus, work methodology during its compiling and evaluation of results based on the analysis of words derived from proper nouns coming from the French press.

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem této bakalářská práce je odvozování od podstatných jmen vlastních ve francouzském tisku. Teoretická část se věnuje definici podstatných jmen a podstatných jmen vlastních, včetně jejich druhů, dále popisu procesu, kdy se z vlastního jména stává jméno obecné (tzv. apelativizace), a v neposlední řadě i definici pojmu derivace a možným způsobům odvozování. V praktické části je popsán jazykový korpus, metodika práce při jeho sestavování a zpracování a zhodnocení výsledků na základě analýzy slov odvozených od podstatných jmen vlastních, vyskytujících se ve francouzském tisku.
