Self-Service Business Intelligence in the Management of Business Informatics (MBI)

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na rozvoj referenčního modelu MBI (Management of Business Informatics) vyvíjeného na půdě Katedry informačních technologií Vysoké školy ekonomické v Praze ve spolupráci s Katedrou softwarového inženýrství ČVUT. Cílem práce je představení problematiky implementace a provozu Self-Service Business Intelligence řešení ve firmě. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí, kde první část stručně popisuje principy Self-Service BI řešení, definuje jeho možné přínosy a efekty ve firmě a porovnává možnosti využití Self-Service BI s klasickým Business Intelligence řešením. Druhá část je zaměřena především na již zmíněné rozšíření modelu MBI. V této části jsou představeny nejčastější úlohy spojené s implementací a provozem Self-Service BI, jejich vazby na uživatelské role, a významné faktory, kterými může být toto řešení ovlivňováno.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the development of reference model MBI (Management of Business Informatics) exerted on the land of the Department of Information Technologies in the University of Economics in collaboration with the Department of Software Engineering CTU. The aim of this thesis is the introduction issues of implementation and operation of the Self-Service Business Intelligence solutions in the company. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part briefly describes principles of the Self-Service BI solution, it defines its potential benefits and effects in the company and compares the possibilities of using Self-Service BI with traditional Business Intelligence solution. The second part is focused on the already mentioned expansion of the MBI model. There are introduced the most common tasks related to the implementation and operation of Self-Service BI in this part, their links to user roles and important factors that may be affected by this solution.
