Implementation of modern project management methodologies (case study)

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce s názvem Zavádění moderních metodik řízení projektu se soustředí především na metodiku SCRUM. Teoretická část stručně popisuje zásady této metodiky a její hlavní myšlenku. Druhá, praktická část této bakalářské práce popisuje implementaci této metodiky v upravené formě na ne ICT firmu. Hlavním cílem je pochopit myšlenku SCRUM a otestovat si její efektivnost na reálném projektu. Pro získání jedinečných dat a zkušeností byla zvolena právě ne ICT firma. Jak je zmíněno v předešlém odstavci výchozí metodikou celé práce je metodika SCRUM. Po pečlivém zkoumání každého artefaktu, role a procesu, byla zavedena do firmy XY. Závěr z testování této metodiky byl rozsáhlý. Zavedení metodiky SCRUM do firmy XY bylo neúspěšné. Vzhledem však k implementaci zcela nové a neznámé metodiky do týmů, který nikdy jako tým nepracoval, byly výsledky týmu poměrně pozitivní. Zda byla metodika efektivní, nebo ne, nelze říci s plnou jistotou. Implementace takovéto metodiky je dlouhý proces a projekt v případě této bakalářské práce trval pouhé 2 měsíce. Navíc byl předčasně zrušen z důvodů vyhlášení nouzového stavu vládou ČR, z důvodu šíření nákazy COVID-19. Jeden z úspěšných výsledků, je zavedení podpůrného informačního nástroje – Trello. Zjednodušila a zefektivnila se komunikace, rychlost reakce na problém nebo změnu a transparentnost práce celého týmu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis called Implementation of modern project management methodologies focuses mainly on the SCRUM methodology. The theoretical part briefly describes the principles of this methodology and its main idea. The second, practical part of this thesis describes the implementation of this methodology in a modified form on a non-ICT company. The main goal is to understand the idea of SCRUM and test its effectiveness on a real project. In case of acquiring unique data and experience, was chosen non-ICT company.As mentioned in the previous paragraph, the default methodology of the work is the SCRUM methodology. After careful examination of each artifact, role, and process, it was introduced to the XY company.The conclusion from testing this methodology was extensive. The introduction of SCRUM methodology in XY was unsuccessful. However, due to the implementation of an entirely new and unknown methodology in teams that never worked as a team, the team's results were relatively positive. Whether the methodology was effective or not cannot be said with full certainty. The implementation of such a methodology is a long process and the project in this senior thesis took only 2 months. In addition, it was cancelled prematurely due to the declaration of an emergency by the Government of the Czech Republic, because of the spread of the COVID-19 infection. One of the successful results is the introduction of a supporting information tool - Trello. Communication, speed of response to error or change, and transparency in the work of the whole team have been simplified and streamlined.
