Příčiny genderové nerovnosti: Srovnání Rwandy a Bosny a Hercegoviny

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce bylo identifikovat hlavní příčiny nerovnosti žen a mužů v kontextu dvou rozvojových zemí – Bosny a Hercegoviny a Rwandy – po genocidách v letech 1994 a 1995. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na hlavní příčiny, konkrétně kulturou, náboženstvím, etnickou příslušností, institucionální asymetrií a legislativou. Praktická část identifikuje vliv uvedených příčin v Bosně a Hercegovině a ve Rwandě po válce. Výsledek v obou případech ukázal odlišné výsledky, ale prevalence těchto vlivů je nepopiratelná. Zatímco obě země trpí kulturním, patriarchálním vlivem a etnickým rozdělením, náboženství je v Bosně a Hercegovině velmi důležitým faktorem, ale rwandská religiozita klesá. Instituce a legislativa teoreticky fungují ve prospěch žen, ale pokud jde o rozhodování a docílení vyšších pozic, jsou ženy utlačovány a jejich kariéra omezena.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to identify main causes of gender inequality in the context of two developing countries- Bosnia and Herzegovina and Rwanda - after the genocides in 1994 and 1995, respectively. Theoretical part focuses on main causes, starting with culture, religion, ethnicity, institutional asymmetries and legislation. Practical part identifies the influence of listed causes in both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Rwanda after the war. The outcome showed different results in both cases, but the prevalence of these influences is undeniable. While both countries suffer from cultural, patriarchal influence and ethnic division, religion is very important factor in Bosnia, but Rwandan religiosity is in decline. Institutions and legislations theoretically work in favor of women, but when it comes to decision making and aims for higher positions, women are oppressed and their careers limited.
