Development of automation and ergonomics of the packaging lines at HOPI Holding a.s.

Abstract:

Práce se zaměřuje na navržení ergonomicky a nákladově efektivního způsobu automatizace balících linek ve společnosti HOPI Holding a.s. Cílem bylo společnosti poskytnout komplexní analýzu všech úrovní automatizace ve vztahu k ergonomii pracoviště. Metodologie práce zahrnovala případové studie, které reflektovaly jednotlivé úrovně automatizace podle postupu DMAIC. Ergonomie pracoviště byla hodnocena metodou Rapid Entire Body Assesment (REBA). Výsledky potvrdily, že v případě zmíněné společnosti automatizované procesy předčily výkon pracovníků. Zároveň bylo statistickou analýzou potvrzeno, že se zvyšující se úrovní automatizace se snižovalo hodnocení REBA, což svědčí o zlepšení ergonomických podmínek. Praktickým přínosem práce je poskytnutí analýzy a návrhu zlepšení procesů pro společnost HOPI. Akademickým přínosem je doplnění poznatků o zavádění automatizace v logistické organizaci s přihlédnutím k ergonomickému aspektu.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on designing an ergonomic and cost-effective way of automating packaging lines in HOPI Holding a.s. The aim was to provide the company with a comprehensive analysis of all levels of automation in relation to workplace ergonomics. The methodology of the work included case studies that reflected each level of automation according to the DMAIC procedure. Workplace ergonomics was evaluated using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method. The results confirmed that in the case of the company, automated processes outperformed the performance of the workers. At the same time, it was confirmed by statistical analysis that as the level of automation increased, the REBA score decreased, indicating an improvement in ergonomic conditions. The practical contribution of the thesis is to provide an analysis and proposal for process improvement for HOPI. The academic contribution is the addition of knowledge on the implementation of automation in a logistics organisation, considering the ergonomic aspect.
