Abstract:

Mou bakalářskou prací je tvorba ilustrací k literárnímu dílu Edgara Allana Poa, konkrétně k čtyřem vybraným povídkám z díla Jáma a kyvadlo a jiné povídky. V teoretické části se se zaměřím na historii knižní ilustrace od starověku až po současnost a na pohled na knihu a ilustraci dnes. Ve druhé části představím vybrané české a zahraniční ilustrátory, kteří již ilustrovali prózu Edgara Allana Poa. V praktické části se budu krátce věnovat autorovi, popíši průběh a tvorbu mých ilustrací a samotný vznik knihy.

Abstract:

My bachelor work is the production of illustrations to Edgar Allan Poe's literary work, specifically four selected tales from The pit and the pendulum and other tales. In the theoretical part, I will focus on the history of book illustrations from antiquity to the present, and a look at the book and illustration today. In the second part I will present selected Czech and foreign illustrators who have already illustrated the prose of Edgar Allan Poe. In the practical part I will briefly devote myself to the author, describe the process and creation of my illustrations and the creation of the book.
