Analysis of the spectral intensity of solar UV radiation measured in Brno in the years 2019-2020

Abstract:

Cílem této práce byla analýza celkového množství ozonu a vybraných spektrálních intervalů slunečního UV záření měřeného radiometrem GUVis-3511 na stanici Brno-Kotlářská v letech 2019–2020. Dílčím cílem práce bylo porovnání celkového množství ozonu vypočítaného z výstupů radiometru GUV s měřením v Hradci Králové. Spektrální intenzity UV záření byly analyzovány na základě variability průměrných denních intenzit, maximálních denních 10minutových intenzit a na základě denního chodu pro vybrané jasné a zatažené dny. Porovnání ozonu v Brně a v Hradci Králové bylo provedeno na základě jejich podílů a pomocí statistického testování. Vliv vybraných faktorů na UV záření byl hodnocen pomocí korelační a regresní analýzy. Na hladině významnosti 0,05 nebyl prokázán statisticky významný rozdíl v celkovém množství ozonu mezi stanicemi Brno-Kotlářská a Hradec Králové. Relativní rozdíl mezi celkovým ozonem v Brně a v Hradci Králové činil 2 %. Denní chod 10minutových intenzit UV záření prokázal významný vliv oblačnosti na variabilitu UV záření, která i v letním období může vést k výraznému zeslabení intenzity UV záření. Dále byla prokázána závislost UV záření na zenitovém úhlu Slunce (SZA). Významným faktorem ovlivňujícím intenzitu UV záření ve spektrálních intervalech 305, 313 a 320 nm pro stejné hodnoty SZA bylo celkové množství ozonu, přičemž závislost intenzity UV záření na celkovém množství ozonu se snižovala s prodlužující vlnovou délkou.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was to analyse the intensity of the solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation measured with the GUVis-3511 radiometer in the selected spectral intervals at Brno-Kotlářská station during the years 2019–2020. The partial aim of this thesis was the comparison of the total ozone column calculated from GUV radiometer with the total ozone column from Hradec Králové station. Spectral intensities of UV radiation were analysed based on the variability of the daily averages, maximum 10minutes intensities, and daily running averages for the selected clear-sky and cloudy days. The comparison of total ozone column between Brno and Hradec Králové was performed using mean ratio between available ozone data and using the statistical testing. The influence of selected factors on UV radiation was evaluated using the correlation and the regression analyse. No significant statistical difference was confirmed (on the level of significance 0,05) in the total ozone column between Brno-Kotlářská and Hradec Králové. The relative difference between total column ozone at Brno and at Hradec Králové was 2 %. Variability of 10minutes intensities proved the significant impact of the cloudiness which can lead to a significant decrease in the UV radiation in summer months. Furthermore, the dependence of UV radiation on solar zenith angle (SZA) was proved. Total ozone column was determined as the significant factor influencing the intensity of UV radiation in spectral intervals of 305, 313 and 320 nm for the same SZA values, while the dependency of the intensity of UV radiation on total ozone column decreased with increasing wavelength.
