Diagnosis and therapy of methanol and ethanol poisoning

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá souborem patologických stavů a léčbou otrav dvěma nejznámějšími alkoholy - metanolem a etanolem. V práci je u obou typů alkoholu nastavena zhruba stejná osnova, jež má za úkol čtenáři usnadnit orientaci a pochopení rozdílů v dané problematice. Vyobrazena je také snaha o rozlišení přednemocniční a nemocniční péče, což je velmi důležité především z pohledu zdravotnických záchranářů. Rozdílné aspekty mezi těmito typy péče spočívají zejména v technických a léčebných možnostech. Konec práce je věnován dostupným kazuistikám, jejichž úkolem je poskytnout čtenáři náhled do praxe.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with a set of pathological conditions and treatment of poisoning with the two most famous alcohols - methanol and ethanol. In this thesis, for the both types of alcohol, roughly the same outline is set, which aims to facilitate the reader's orientation and understanding of the differences in the issue. An attempt is also made to distinguish prehospital and hospital care, which is particularly important from the point of view of paramedics. Different aspects of these types of care lie mainly in the technical and therapeutic options. The end of the work is devoted to the available case reports, which focused to acquainting the reader with typical practice.
