Cytosine oxidation derivatives, distribution and gene regulation in X and Y Silene latifolia sex chromosomes

Cytosine oxidation derivatives, distribution and gene regulation in X and Y Silene latifolia sex chromosomes
Abstract:
Jako konzervovaná epigenetická značka se 5-methylcytosin (5mC) podílí na mnoha důležitých biologických procesech, včetně tvorby heterochromatinu, obrany proti proliferaci transpozonů, genomového imprintingu, regulace exprese endogenních genů a umlčování transgenů. Oxidační produkty 5mC, 5-hydroxymethylcytosin (5hmC), 5-formylcytosin (5fC) a 5-karboxylcytosin (5caC), souhrnně známé jako oxidované methylcytosiny …more
Abstract:
Being a conserved epigenetic mark, 5-methylcytosine (5mC) is involved in many important biological processes, including heterochromatin formation, defence against transposon proliferation, genomic imprinting, regulation of endogenous gene expression and silencing of transgenes. The oxidation products of 5mC: 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC), 5-formylcytosine (5fC), and 5-carboxylcytosine (5caC), collectively …more
