Re- assessment of the Rhodophyta of some localities from Badenian of Moravia

Abstract:

The Red Algae from Badenian localities in Moravia have been reassested in the graduation theses.The systematic revision has been done on the basis of the new method of systmatics, whích uses the new characters specified on the recent groups (Braga et al. 1993). The Study using the electrone microskop was necessary. Eight genuses of the family Corallinaceae have been identified: Lithothamnion betieri, L. ramosissimum, Mesophyllum curtum, M. sancti-dionysii, Lithophyllum dentatum, L. incrustans, L. duplex, Spongites albanensis; and one algae from the family Sporolithaceae species Sporolithon brevium. Rhodoliths present in the all studied localities have also been analysed in the graduation theses. Their size and internal structure reflect hydrodynamic conditions of their growth environment. The fossil assemblages of the algae on the level of the subfamilies as well as the assemblages of the rhodoliths indicate the mix of different bathymetric settings of the basin. The graduation theses supports the theory of Badenian limestones origine in the Moravian part of Central Paratethys by the transport from shallow to deeper areas of the basin. The analog of the red algae environment can be placed in recent Mediterranean, where the similar assemblage of the Rhodophyts grows.

Abstract:

V diplomovej práci boli revidované červené riasy (Corallinales, Rhodophyta) z lokalít bádenu Moravy. Systematická revízia bola robená na základe novo vypracovanej systematyky, ktorá vychádza z novo vytýčených rozlišovacích znakov stanovených na recentných skupinách (Braga et al. 1993). Pre jej využitie bolo nutné pozorovanie na elektrónovom mikroskope. Bolo určených 8 druhov rias čeľade Corallinaceae: Lithothamnion betieri, L. ramosissimum, Mesophyllum curtum, M. sancti-dionysii, Lithophyllum dentatum, L. incrustans, L. duplex, Spongites albanensis; a jedna riasa z čeľade Sporolithaceae druh Sporolithon brevium. Pri práci boli analyzované aj rodolity, prítomné na všetkých študovaných lokalitách, ktorých veľkosť a vnútorná stavba odrážajú hydrodynamické podmienky prostredia ich rastu. Spoločenstvo rias na úrovni podčeľadí aj spoločenstvo rodolitov nasvedčuje premiešanie rôznych batymetrických prostredí panvy. Práca preto podporuje teóriu tvorby bádenských vápencov Moravskej časti centrálnej Paratethydy transportom z plytšých do hlbších oblastí panvy. Analógom prostredia bádenských červených rias Moravy môže byť dnešné Stredozemné more v ktorom dnes žije obdobné spoločenstvo Rhodophyt.
