Journalistic Text Translation. Nominal Constructions in French and in Czech

Abstract:

This thesis presents the problematics of journalistic texts translation from French to Czech. Our aim is to analyse the form and usage of nominal constructions in French and their czech equivalents. For our analysis we have chosen and translated four articles from different French magazines. The first part of our work deals mainly with theoretical description of linguistic terms ? nominal constructions, compound words, complex onomatological units and verbo-nominal constructions. For a better illustration, we are using many exemples from our corpuses. The practical part, on the other hand, contains a commented analysis of chosen corpuses with emphasis on nominal constructions and other associated phenomena. In the final part we try to introduce the importance of translation within the process of foreign language acquisition.

Abstract:

Předložená práce se zabývá problematikou překladu žurnalistických textů z francouzštiny do češtiny a následnou analýzou vybraného lingvistického jevu ? užití nominálních konstrukcí v obou zmiňovaných jazycích. Korpusy, se kterými pracujeme, jsou vybrány a přeloženy ze čtyř různých francouzských časopisů. Abychom mohli provést komplexní analýzu použitých textů, musíme nejprve definovat pojmy, se kterými chceme dále pracovat. V teoretické části naší diplomové práce tedy vymezujeme pojmy nominální konstrukce, složené slovo, komplexní onomatologická jednotka a verbonominální konstrukce. Každá definice je ilustrována několika příklady z našich korpusů. Praktická část pak obsahuje samotnou analýzu použitých korpusů a komentář, který vysvětluje specifika překladu francouzských nominálních konstrukcí do češtiny. Závěr této práce je věnován roli překladu ve výuce cizích jazyků
