Tato diplomová práce analyzuje romány Adam Bede, Červený mlýn, Romola a Middlemarch britské autorky George Eliot. Analýza děl je zaměřena na autorčin přístup k tematice ženství a ženským hrdinkám. Práce se románům věnuje v chronologickém pořadí, aby byl patrný vývoj, k němuž dochází v emancipaci hlavních hrdinek u George Eliot. Abstract:
This diploma thesis analyses the novels Adam Bede, The Mill on the Floss, Romola and Middlemarch by George Eliot. It examines the approaches to femininity from the prespective of marriage, motherhood or life ambitions of the main protagonists. The novels are examined chronologically in order to show the development of the main heroines towards their growing independence.
