Czech humanitarian organizations and aid to refugees from Ukraine to the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na analýzu činnosti českých humanitárních organizací v oblasti pomoci uprchlíkům z Ukrajiny v souvislosti s konfliktem na Ukrajině. V důsledku války na Ukrajině bylo mnoho lidí nuceno opustit své domovy a hledat bezpečí jinde, přičemž mnozí z nich zvolili Českou republiku. Struktura práce zahrnuje teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část bude věnována hlubšímu představení prezentovaného tématu, a to vymezení klíčových pojmů, historii rusko-ukrajinských vztahů, příčinám konfliktu mezi oběma zeměmi a jeho hlavnímu důsledku – migrační krizi ukrajinských uprchlíků do České republiky. Práce také stručně představí největší české humanitární organizace. Praktická část této práce bude věnována prezentaci a interpretaci výsledků vlastního výzkumu, který zahrnoval anonymní rozhovory s pracovníky různých českých humanitárních organizací a dotazníkové šetření mezi zaměstnanci těchto organizací. Tímto způsobem se pokusíme získat hlubší vhled do toho, jak české humanitární organizace reagovaly na migrační krizi a jakým způsobem se podílely na poskytování pomoci uprchlíkům z Ukrajiny v České republice.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of the activities of Czech humanitarian organizations in the field of assistance to refugees from Ukraine in the context of the conflict in Ukraine. As a result of the war in Ukraine, many people have been forced to leave their homes and seek safety elsewhere, many of whom have chosen the Czech Republic. The structure of the thesis includes a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part will be devoted to a deeper introduction of the presented topic, namely the definition of key concepts, the history of Russian-Ukrainian relations, the causes of the conflict between the two countries and its main consequence - the migration crisis of Ukrainian refugees to the Czech Republic. The thesis will also briefly introduce the largest Czech humanitarian organizations. The practical part of this thesis will be devoted to the presentation and interpretation of the results of its own research, which included anonymous interviews with the staff of various Czech humanitarian organizations and a questionnaire survey among the employees of these organizations. In this way, we will attempt to gain deeper insight into how Czech humanitarian organizations have responded to the migration crisis and how they have been involved in providing assistance to refugees from Ukraine in the Czech Republic.
