Psychological aspects of infertility in women.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá ženskou neplodností v psychosociálním kontextu. V teoretické části je neplodnost popsána z medicínského a psychologického hlediska. V rámci empirické části byly vedeny rozhovory se šesti ženami, kterým byla diagnostikována neplodnost. Rozhovory byly následně analyzovány pomocí metody interpretativní fenomenologické analýzy. Výsledky analýzy prezentují zkušenost s neplodností z perspektivy neplodných žen a z perspektivy šesti témat, která byla pro respondentky společná. Z analýzy vyvstalo šest témat, kterými jsou: „Centrálnost neplodnosti“, „Psychická náročnost“, „Změna vs. opakování v průběhu času“, „Starost o partnera“, „Nebýt v tom sama“ a „Komunikace jako zdroj podpory i frustrace“. Výsledky této práce byly propojeny s již existujícími výzkumy a byly představeny další možnosti jejich využití.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis deals with female infertility in psychosocial context. In the theoretical part infertility is described from medical and psychological view. In the empiric part interviews with six women diagnosed with infertility were conducted. For analysis of the interviews the method of interpretative phenomenological analysis was used. The results provide the experience with infertility from the perspective of infertile women and from the perspective of six themes, that were common for the participants. The themes developed from the analysis are: “Centrality of infertility”, “Psychological demand”, “Change vs. repeating over time”, “Care for partner”, „Not alone“ and “Communication as a source of support and frustration”. The results of this thesis were connected with existing research and possibilities of further use were presented.
