Towards a Image Theory in Context of New Media Discurcus

Abstract:

Práce se snaží o zachycení a interpretaci vybraných přístupů v teoretickém uchopení obrazu v kontextu novomediálních teorií. Práce tematizuje pět přístupů k teorii obrazu ve vybraných dílech různých autorů. U Viléma Flussera jsou zkoumány dva přístupy k technickému obrazu: kritický přístup a technooptimistický přístup. Reflexe autonomizace a automatizace obrazu je zkoumána u teoretiků Petera Weibela a Geoffreye Batchena. V dílech Jaye Davida Boltera s Richardem Grusinem a Arthura Graua se objevuje reflexe tzv. rozbujelé vizuality dané digitálními médii. Komplexní teorie tělesně-afektivního vidění Marka Hansena představuje další přístup k obrazu, zde nazvaný jako proprioceptivní. Posledním zmíněnou teorií obrazu je „organický“ přístup W. T. J. Mitchella. Vybrané přístupy představují určitý pokus o systematizaci v oblasti teoretického náhledu na technický obraz.

Abstract:

This paper is focused on different approaches of theoretical thinking about the image in context of new media theory. The paper treat five concept of approaches of image theory in chosen works of various authors. There is inspected two conception of the image theory by Vilem Flusser, one a critical conception and second a technooptimistic conception. The reflction of the autonomisation and the automation of image probe into Peter Weibel and Geoffrey Batchen works. So called „reflection of the proliferation of the visual“ appears in woks of Jay David Bolter with Richard Grusin and Arthur Grau. Mark Hansen’s complex theory of body-affective vision represents another approach to the image theory, named proprioceptive approach here. And last mentioned the image theory is „organic“ approach of W.T.J. Mitchell. Chosen approaches constitute a specific attemp of the systematizion of theoretical opinion of the technical image.
