Incidence of boxing related injuries

Abstract:

U tohoto tvrdého a fyzicky náročného sportu jako je box, vzniká mnoho zranění. Jsou to zranění akutního i chronického charakteru. Box se rozděluje na dva druhy. Profesionální a amatérský. Rozdíl mezi nimi je především v částečně rozdílných pravidlech a používání ochranných prvků při zápasech. Amatérský box je striktnější a má přísnější pravidla než profesionální box. U amatérského boxu se také používá více ochranných prvků. Tato práce se zabývá incidencí zranění způsobená boxem, ale také problémem, který vznikl úpravou pravidel v amatérském boxu, s cílem přiblížit tento druh boxu tomu profesionálnímu, z důvodu atraktivnosti. Otázkou do budoucna je, jaký to bude mít dopad na zdraví amatérských boxerů. Nicméně hlavní otázkou zůstává zjistit, jaké jsou nejčastější typy zranění a jaká je jejich incidence? Cílem této práce bude na základě přehledové studie identifikovat nejčastější typy zranění při boxu a při dostatečném množství studií stanovit incidenci jednotlivých typů zranění. Zvolená metoda zjištění bude pomocí databáze Pubmed, Science Direct, Medline, SportDiscus a klíčových slov, box, zranění, incidence kde budou vyhledány odborné články. Tyto články budou kategorizovány na prospektivní a retrospektivní. Největší váhu budou mít při subjektivně vytvářeném závěru články prospektivní. Z těchto článků a odborných publikací bude vytvořena odpověď na výše formulované otázky.

Abstract:

There are a lot of injuries in such a tough and physically demanding sport like boxing which can be severe with lasting damage and in some cases life changing. There are 2 types of boxing: professional and amateur and the difference is mainly in the rules which are more stringent for amateurs and in the use of protective gear which must be worn during matches.This thesis deals with the incidence of injuries caused by boxing and also describes the problems that arise when modifying the rules of amateur boxing so it's closer to the professional level in order to make it more attractive. And a question that needs to be asked is how it will impact on the health of amateur boxers.However, the main aim of this thesis is to find the commonest types of injuries and how often they occur based on statistics from a number of studies.The chosen method of research will be to use PubMed, Science Direct, Medline, SPORTDiscus and keywords such as boxing and injury incidences to find technical articles. These articles will be categorized as prospective and retrospective. The prospective articles will have the greatest importance due to subjectively drawn conclusions. Answers to the previously mentioned questions will be formulated according to articles and scientific publications.
