Right to life and euthanasia from the perspective of a citizen of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá nejen jedním ze základních lidských práv, právem na život, ale také eutanázií, která je ve společnosti často diskutovaným tématem. Cílem práce je analyzovat vnímání práva na život a problematiku eutanázie občany v České republice. V teoretické části jsou vysvětleny užité pojmy a řešená problematika je zasazena do kontextu. Pro získání dat, na jejichž základě jsou zodpovězeny stanovené výzkumné otázky, je využito metody dotazníkového šetření. Tímto způsobem získaná data jsou následně analyzována pomocí chí-kvadrát testu nezávislosti. Z výsledků jsou vyvozeny závěry a ty jsou poté diskutovány.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals not only with one of the fundamental human rights, the right to life, but also with euthanasia, which is a frequently discussed topic in society. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the perception of the right to life and the topic of euthanasia by citizens in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part explains the terms used and puts the topic in context. The method of questionnaire survey is used to obtain data on the basis of which the research questions are answered. The data obtained in this way is then analysed using chi-square test of independence. Conclusions are drawn from the results and these are then discussed.
