Detective Fiction in Czech Children's Literature

Abstract:

Magisterská práce se ve své teoretické části zabývá dětskou detektivkou, jejími východisky, specifiky, vznikem i rozvojem v zahraničí a především v českém geografickém prostředí. Praktická část je věnována analýze děl tří českých autorů knih pro děti a mládež. Pro výsledky práce je využito metody obsahové analýzy. Cílem práce je formulovat specifické rysy subžánru dětské detektivky, na analýze tří titulů komparovat autorský přístup k danému subžánru a vyhodnotit význam intencionální detektivní prózy pro dětského vnímatele.

Abstract:

This master's thesis deals with the genre of children's detective fiction. The theoretical part further explores the specific characteristics of the genre, as well as its origins and development in the Czech culture but also abroad. The empirical part comprises of an analysis of the works of three different Czech authors of children's books, using content analysis as the chosen research method. The aim of the thesis is to define the specific features of the children's detective fiction subgenre, and also to compare the various approaches towards the said subgenre based on the authors chosen for the analysis, and evaluate the significance of detective fiction for the child perceiver.
