Military production in Dubnica nad Váhom

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the armament industry in Slovakia with the mainly focus on the example of the plant in Dubnica nad Váhom. It focuses on the analysis of individual products of military production. In the years 1937-1968 the thesis would like to present the importance of the plant Dubnica and Váhom for the state needs. It presents its ability and large range of products the plant was able to produce. It shows the change in the military production during the reference period on the base of the actual political situation, which significantly affected the military production and army as well. For the better understanding the concept of production the thesis begins with the explanation of political situation and its effect on the plant itself through the full reference period. The description is set on three periods of time with which we can generalize the evolution of history. The presentation begins with the problems of construction of the plant and with first agreements between each side for better understanding the production in the first years of plant’s existence. Next there is showed the period of World War II for the significant effect of Germany and the change in production for their plans. The last period is the view after war and its changes to soviet image. Then the thesis takes closer look on the production itself and presentation of individual products. The explanation builds on the political events, changes in the plant, economic situation of the state and is trying to bring these factors to the substantiation for the evolution in the production itself.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá zbrojárskym priemyslom na Slovensku v 20. storočí s hlavným zameraním a ukážkou na príklade závodu v Dubnici nad Váhom. Venuje sa analýze jednotlivých výrobných produktov zbrojného priemyslu. V stanovenom rozpätí rokov 1937-1968 sa snaží preukázať význam zbrojnej produkcie závodu v Dubnici nad Váhom pre potreby štátu. Preukazuje jeho schopnosti a rozsiahle rozpätie produktov, ktoré bol závod schopný vyrábať. Poukazuje na premenu zbrojnej výroby počas sledovaného obdobia na základe aktuálnej politickej situácie, ktorá výrazne ovplyvňovala vývoj zbrojnej produkcie a armády všeobecne. Pre lepšie pochopenie kontextu výroby práca začína vysvetlením politickej situácie a jej vplyv na život a stav závodu počas celého sledovaného obdobia. Popis je rozdelený na tri obdobia, ktorými môžeme zovšeobecniť dejinný vývoj. Prezentovaná je problematika výstavby a prvé dohody medzi jednotlivými stranami na pochopenie vývoja výroby v prvých rokoch života závodu. Následne sa zaoberá obdobím počas druhej svetovej vojny, pre výrazný nemecký vplyv a zmenu výroby práve v prospech Nemecka. Posledné obdobie je ukážkou zmien po vojne a premeny výroby na sovietsky obraz. Zvyšok práce sa už bližšie zameriava na samotnú výrobu a prezentáciu jednotlivých výrobkov. Nadväzuje na politické udalosti, zmeny v závode, hospodársku situáciu štátu a snaží sa týmito faktormi odôvodniť zásahy a zmeny vo výrobnej sfére.
