Business Angels ve financování startupů v České republice

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je poskytnout komplexní analýzu role a charakteristik business angels (BA) v Českém startupovém ekosystému, porovnat český neformální trh s rizikovým kapitálem s trhy ve střední Evropě a více rozvinutými trhy a navrhnout potenciální opatření ke zvýšení atraktivity České republiky pro angel investory. Práce přináší přehled literatury na dané téma a důkladnou analýzu českého angel ekosystému, včetně kvalitativního výzkumu ve formě polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se šesti odbornými respondenty. Výzkum ukázal, že business angels hrají významnou roli při financování českých startupů, zejména v případě inovativních technologických projektů, a identifikoval klíčové charakteristiky ekosystému, který podporuje inovace a růst startupů. Práce rovněž navrhla několik klíčových cílů, které je třeba adresovat, aby se dále rozvíjel jak český ekosystém angel investování, tak celkový startupový ekosystém, včetně systematického sběru dat, stimulování investic investičními a daňovými pobídkami, investování do vzdělání a posilování podpory ze strany vlády, zřizování spolufondů a popularizace success stories.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the role and characteristics of business angels (BAs) in the Czech Republic's startup ecosystem, compare its informal venture capital market to those in Central Europe and more developed markets, and propose potential measures to enhance the attractiveness of the Czech Republic to angel investors. The thesis contributes a literature review on the topic, as well as a thorough analysis of the Czech angel ecosystem along with qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews with six expert respondents. The study found that business angels play an important role in the financing of Czech startups, particularly in case of innovative tech ventures, and identified key characteristics of an ecosystem that promotes innovation and supports the growth of startups. The thesis also proposed several key objectives that must be addressed to further develop both the Czech angel investing ecosystem and the startup ecosystem as a whole, including systematic data collection, incentivizing investments through tax benefits and policies, investing in education and strengthening government support, establishing cofunds, and leveraging success stories.
