V první kapitole teoretické části je cílem přiblížit pojem eutanazie, její vymezení od historie po současnost a uchopení eutanazie v legislativě České republiky. Budou zde popsány základní rozdíly mezi eutanazií legální a nelegální na příkladech zemí, které jsou s tímto tématem nejvíce spjaty a také bude v práci vysvětlen pojem aktivní a pasivní eutanazie.
