Computer games as influence factor improving technical and information literacy of children

Abstract:

Diplomová práce na téma Počítačové hry coby ovlivňující faktor pro zlepšení technické a informační gramotnosti se snaží nabídnout převážně rodičům a pedagogům jiný pohled na počítačové hry. Práce je tedy zaměřena převážně na to, zda může být hraní počítačových her žákům přínosné a zda se zájmu o tyto hry, který je u dnešních dětí znatelný, nedá pozitivně využít. V teoretické části se práce kromě nadefinování klíčových pojmů zabývá také vymezením problematiky hraní počítačových her, dále jejich rozdělením a také poukázáním jak na pozitivní, tak i na negativní faktory hraní počítačových her. Část praktická se pak zaměřuje na to, zda počítačové hry mohou motivovat žáky k dalšímu vzdělávání v oblasti informačních technologií a také jejich následnému zlepšování technické a informační gramotnosti. Zároveň práce ve výzkumné části klasifikuje jednotlivé typy her, právě podle jejich přínosu dětem při jejich následném vzdělávání.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of the computer games. It concentrates mainly on the aspects influencing pupil´s improvement in informational and technical skills. It offers different points of view on the computer games which can be useful to the parents as well as the teachers. The thesis examines whether the playing of the computer games can be useful to children in their educational process. It also shows how to use the computer games so they have positive influence on the education of the young learners. In the theoretical part of the thesis reader can find some useful definitions as well as the division of the computer games. Last but not least the theoretical part shows the pros and cons of computer games playing. The practical part concentrates on how to use computer games to motivate pupils to further learning in the field of ICT. Thesis also classifies the types of various computer games according to their contributions to the process of education.
