Specifics of Piano Interpretation of the Blind

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Specifika klavírní interpretace nevidomých“ pojednává o komplexní problematice spojující zrakové postižení a profesionální hru na klavír. Cílí na specifické sluchové dovednosti, specifické kognitivní dovednosti jako je paměť, koncentrace a představivost a specifické motorické dovednosti, které se snaží pomocí čtyř zvolených informantů popsat. Praktická část obsahuje kvalitativní výzkum a téma pojímá do hloubky za účelem odkrýt i dosud zcela neznámé aspekty. Součástí práce je i popis a pojednání o Braillově notopisu – jeho zevrubné vysvětlení a praktická ukázka krátkých úryvků instruktivních skladeb doplněna obrázky.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis "Specifics of Piano Interpretation of the Blind" deals with the complex issue of combining visual impairment and professional piano playing. It targets specific hearing skills, specific cognitive skills such as memory, concentration, and imagination, and specific motor skills, which it attempts to explicate using four selected informants. The empiric part includes qualitative research and covers the topic in depth to uncover previously unknown aspects. The thesis also includes a description and discussion of Braille notation – a brief explanation of it, and a practical example of short excerpts of instructional compositions with pictures.
