The objective of this bachelor thesis is to analyze causes and the course of the conflict between two eminent German writers and also brothers Heinrich and Thomas Mann - during World War I. The introduction of the thesis outlines biographies of both writers and the pre-war period in German Empire. Cílem této bakalářské práce je analýza příčin sporu a jeho průběhu dvou významných německých spisovatelů – a současně také bratrů - Heinricha a Thomase Mannových v době první světové války. Úvod práce krátce nastiňuje životopisy obou spisovatelů a předválečné období v tehdejší Německé říši.
