Předkládaná práce se zabývá problematikou zavedení přímé volby starostů v České republice. V první kapitole ukazuje jednotlivé volební systémy a představuje stávající systém voleb do zastupitelstev uzákoněný v České republice. The thesis is dealing with the issue of applying direct elections of mayors in Czech Republic. In the first chapter it shows electoral systems in general and current system of elections to municipal councils enacted in Czech Republic.
