The European Parliament and its electoral system in comparison with the electoral system of the parliament in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Evropská unie je rozsáhlý komplex tvořený z mnoha institucí s různými pravomocemi. Vyvíjel se celou řadu let a jedním z prvních impulsů evropské integrace bylo zajištění míru a konce zbídačování Evropy, kterou ničily probíhající války. Stejně jako Česká republika a jiné státy má také Evropská unie svůj Parlament. Evropský parlament je tvořen zastupiteli členských států, kteří jsou voleni občany států Evropské unie na určité volební období. Z důvodu odlišnosti Parlamentu České republiky a Parlamentu Evropské unie má také jiný volební systém, kterým se v této práci zabývám. V první části své práce popisuji historii a vznik celé Evropské unie i funkce Evropského parlamentu a jeho volební systém. Druhá část je věnována Parlamentu České republiky. Zvlášť každé komoře-Poslanecké sněmovně i Senátu a taktéž jeho volebním systémem.

Abstract:

European Union is a large complex consisting of many institutions with different mandates. Developed with a number of years and one of the first pulse of European integration was to ensure peace and the impoverishment of Europe, destroyed by the ongoing war. Like the Czech Republic and other States is also the European Union Parliament. The European Parliament is made up of representatives of Member States who are elected by the citizens of the European Union on a parliamentary term. Because of the distinctive features of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and the European Union also has a different electoral system, in this work deal. In the first part of his thesis describes the history and emergence of the European Union and the European Parliament and the functions of the electoral system. The second part is devoted to the Czech Republic. Especially each chamber-the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate as well as its electoral system.
