The aim of this thesis is to present and explain relationship between freedom of an individual and authority of a state in a thought of Jean-Jacques Rousseau. First of all, I introduce basic principles of Rousseau’s political philosophy with focus on the concept of general will. Cieľom tejto práce je predstavenie a vysvetlenie vzťahu slobody jednotlivca a autority štátu v myslení Jean-Jacquesa Rousseaua. Najprv predstavujem základné princípy Rousseauovej politickej filozofie so zameraním na koncept všeobecnej vôle.
