Level of informations diclosure about infidelity and its effect on the process of forgiveness

Abstract:

V bakalářské práci se zabývám vlivem míry odhalení detailů o nevěře na proces odpuštění. Cílem mé práce bylo jinými slovy ověřit, jestli známá zlidovělá rada „Zatloukat, zatloukat, zatloukat!“ radí dobře nebo špatně. Ve výzkumné hypotéze jsem očekávala, že znalost bližších informací o nevěře bude podvedenému partnerovi proces odpuštění znesnadňovat. Ke sběru dat jsem použila dotazníkovou metodu, kde jsem měřila jak míru odpuštění, tak množství informací. Samotnému výzkumu předcházela pilotáž, po níž došlo k upravení dotazníku tak, aby byl respondentům lépe srozumitelný a také došlo k doplnění seznamu informací o nevěře. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo celkem 360 respondentů, jejichž průměrný věk byl 25 let. Při zpracování výsledků jsem používala Spearmanův nebo Pearsonův korelační koeficient ke zjišťování vzájemných vztahů proměnných. Souvislost mezi množstvím informací a odpuštěním se takto nepodařilo prokázat. Byl však nalezen vztah mezi odpuštěním a způsobem odhalení informací. Čím více informací získali respondenti od svých nevěrných partnerů, tím vyšší byl jejich skór odpuštění. Naopak čím více informací museli zjišťovat sami, tím nižší skór odpuštění. Také spokojenost s informacemi, které podvedený partner dostal, se ukázala býti významným prediktorem odpuštění. Z regresního modelu poté vyplynulo, že měřenými proměnnými lze vysvětlit 17 % rozptylu odpuštění.

Abstract:

In my bachelor‘s thesis I was focused on effect of level of information’s disclosure on proces of forgiveness. To tell it in the other way, the aim of my thesis was to verify if popularized advice „Deny, deny, deny!“ advise good or bad. I expected in research hypothesis, that knowing of closer informations will makes forgiving more difficult for abusive partner. I used questionnaire method for collecting data and I measured level of forgiveness and quantity of informations too. Before starting the research I did pilot study, after that I modified the questionnaire for respondent’s better understanding and also I completed the list of possible informations about infidelity. Summary 360 respondents participated in the research, their average age was 25 years. When processing data I was using Spearman or Pearson correlation coefficient for determining relations between variables. The relationship between the amount of information and forgiveness wasn’t found. On the other hand relationship between forgiveness and way of disclosure was found. The more information participants received from their partners the higher was their forgiveness score. Conversely the more information participans had to discovered on their own the lower was their forgiveness score. Also satisfaction with information which abusive partner received has proven to be significant predictor of forgiveness. Than a regression model showed that we can explain 17 % of forgiveness variance by measured variables.
